Ms Rukayat Abu, a correspondent with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), has been named the winner of the 2025 Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) Media Personality Award in the online media category.
The announcement was made by MAN President Chief Francis Meshioye at the 10th edition of the MAN Media Personality of the Year Award Ceremony and 2026 Presidential Luncheon in Lagos. Meshioye commended Abu for her “in-depth and meticulous reportage,” noting her professionalism and deep understanding of Nigeria’s industrial landscape.
“Through your reporting, our positions on industrial policy, manufacturing competitiveness, energy security, local content development, and the macroeconomic environment have remained firmly on the national agenda,” Meshioye said. “Your work has transformed the patronage of Made-in-Nigeria products into a national imperative and accelerated government engagement on critical policies.”
The MAN Media Personality Awards, now in its tenth year, were established to strengthen collaboration between the media and the association while recognizing journalists who provide impactful reporting on Nigeria’s manufacturing sector.

- Television Category: Ini John-Mekwa (Channels Television)
- Radio Category: Ebere Obike-Franklin (Radio Nigeria)
- Photojournalism Category: Temitope Aina (Daily Sun)
Runners-up were also recognized across all categories, including Tony Nwakaegho (Gentech News) in online media and Arinze Nwafor (The Punch) in print.
Ms Nkechinyere Mba, General Manager, Corporate Services Division, MAN, encouraged journalists to maintain high reporting standards as the association rolls out its 2026 initiatives.
The awards highlight the media’s vital role in amplifying advocacy, scrutinizing policy, and giving visibility to Nigeria’s manufacturing sector.
